Postpartum isn’t a time to “bounce back”—it’s a time to recover, bond, and recalibrate. Unfortunately, many parents spend months prepping for labor but forget to plan for the weeks that follow. Let’s change that.
Build a postpartum recovery plan that includes:
- A food strategy: Will you prep meals, order in, or create a meal train?
- A daily support system: Who’s helping during the day? What about at night?
- Delegation: Ask friends to bring meals, tidy up, or walk the dog
- Medical support: Will a postpartum doula or midwife check on you?
Think beyond survival:
- Set up hydration reminders
- Place nourishing snacks in each room
- Create a cozy “nursing nest”
- Block time to shower, stretch, and rest
Postpartum is not a one-size-fits-all experience. Communicate with your support people clearly. And remember—caring for yourself is part of caring for your baby.
